Pure Souls
Pure souls are those people who always look on the bright side, tending to believe the best in others to such a degree that they forgive faults easily. They tend to believe that everyone is good and those that do bad things are just misunderstood. Because of this, they are very naive, however, to be a pure soul one must behave in this manner of close to it for many, many lifetimes. At some point, some event happens where they let go of the last negative thought and forgive some horrible act and at that moment they are reborn as a pure soul.
The fact that pure souls are so innocent means that they often have a dark protector someone who would do anything to keep them safe. Once someone becomes a pure soul they can do anything, the universe will grant them anything they want by wishing. Because of the nature of a pure soul, it is rare that they ask for anything because they value the balance of the universe and they are not selfish. Sometimes accidents happen or they know something needs to happen. One can not steal the powers of a pure soul because they are earned in a special manner and the universe doesn't allow it. It can't be passed on and a pure soul cannot be held against their will. They will simply disappear.

Dark Souls
Dark Souls could be considered the opposite of pure souls but they are different in many ways. Dark Souls are those that have had really bad things happen to them for hundreds some say thousands of lifetimes. The number is unknown but what is known is that it darkens their souls and in time they lose hope in the world and people. Beginning to believe humans have no worth they grow to be cruel in time it darkens even there soul. Until one day they die a horrid death but something refuses to go and they climb out of death as a dark soul.
A dark soul is faster, stronger, and just about better than the average person in every way. They can see in the dark and even control is able to use it to hide from view. They become natural predators and can hunt down those that wrong them. However, since their souls are dark they don't have light or very little so they seek out light. Creating a desire to take another person's eyes to gain their light once they do this they become a monster.
