They give up their lives, never marrying, and giving their lives someday to keep other safes. They are considered lesser because they are cursed with powers, yet at the same time, they are revealed for their sacrifice to the people as a whole.
Women are considered to be fragile. They are to be protected by men. Women are not allowed to live on their own. By order of the law, they must have a male guardian. They are the homemakers, they are supposed to be pretty. The prettier the girl the more likely she will marry high. Either that or if she has money to rise the positions of those around her. A girl will not marry below her station unless she has no other choice. Marrying high means security for you and your family. A woman who has no male relatives or whose male relatives die become wards of the state. The state will assign someone to watch over them. A girl is not allowed to out and about without an escort. They believe that it is the duty of men to protect the woman of their world.
They are not allowed to own land. They can have jobs but only in fields deemed proper, like the library. A woman that has no guardians can become whores under the charge of a man who runs the brothel, they can perform services for elites and others of high rank as a service to the society as a whole. Prostitutes do not marry but can from time to time be taken as a mistress.
Women cannot be warriors and those who have powers are expected to become breeders to breed with other elites in hopes of making more with powers that are desired. They spend their lives doing this giving up rights for the betterment of the society like their male counterparts.
